Education: University of Alaska, Fairbanks, B.A. Foreign Languages and Business Administration. University of Alaska, Southeast, M.A. Elementary Education. University of Granada, Spain, Methods for Teaching Spanish Graduate Course.

Nicky Naiman was raised in Alaska, which helped contribute to her adventurous spirit. After graduating from high school, she spent a year studying in Cordoba, Mexico before beginning college. The first 11 years of her career were spent managing a helicopter tour company in Skagway, AK. Although she greatly loves tourism, she loves children even more and decided to pursue a career working with them. Nicky spent time teaching in Alaska, Montana, and Hawaii before moving to Bellingham. She taught the Lower School Spanish program in 2012/2013, but took a short break to stay home with her children. Now that her children are in elementary school, she is happy to return to teaching at St. Paul’s.

Outside of school, Nicky enjoys reading, baking, spending time with family, and anything outdoors. She especially loves travelling and learning about new places and cultures. Some of her favorite adventures include paragliding off a mountain in Alaska, trekking in the Himalaya Mountains of Nepal, and exploring ancient ruins in Greece with her children.
