Education: Western Washington University, B.A. Communication

Kara grew up in Burien, Washington and moved to Bellingham to attend Western Washington University. After graduating with a degree in Communications, and working in her field for several years, Kara chose to switch paths and start working with children. Some of the related positions include Kindercare, the WWU Child Development Center,Teacher for Three Rivers Cooperative School, and as a Substitute Teacher for Little Epistles Preschool and St. Paul’s Academy.

Volunteer positions include PALS Officer, and 2015 SPA Auction Gala Co-Chair. Kara became involved with PALS about nine years ago when her son, Lorenzo started preschool at LEPS. After volunteering for many years, she served as LEPS Liaison for three years, and as co-president for one year. This is her second year as PALS President. Her hope as PALS President, is for all parents to be engaged and actively participating by volunteering, as it creates a dynamic school community for our children.

Married to Tony Pellecchia, they have two boys attending SPA: Lorenzo, grade 5 and Matteo, a first grader. Their family enjoys boating, fishing, dining out, exploring local parks and beaches, soccer and spending time with family.
