3rd Grade Teacher

Education: Corban University, B.A. in Education, endorsed in Elementary Education and ESL; minors in Biblical Studies and Business Management

After spending most of her childhood in northwestern Washington, Jill Hammack was excited to return to the area to join St. Paul’s Academy in 2013 as a 3rd grade teacher.

Ms. Hammack graduated Summa Cum Laude from Corban University in Salem, Oregon with a degree in Elementary Education.  During her time at Corban, Ms. Hammack earned several awards including: Most Outstanding Education Major and the Lighthouse Award (for consistent and outstanding demonstration of the qualities of an educator).  Ms. Hammack was thrilled to find a position teaching 3rd grade as it was both her favorite grade as a student and a teacher.  3rd grade is a transition out of the primary grades and into upper elementary.  3rd graders quickly learn the enjoyment, feeling of satisfaction, need for responsibility, and challenges that come with their newfound independence.  Ms. Hammack enjoys the curiosity, excitement, and energy that seems innate in 3rd graders.

When she’s not teaching, Ms. Hammack enjoys hiking, traveling, playing violin, going to Husky football games, and running with her black lab, Zoe.
