Jennifer grew up and graduated from high school in Juneau, Alaska. After graduation she moved to Bellingham, Washington and attended Whatcom Community College where she earned a Medical Assisting Degree. She then worked at a family practice clinic in Bellingham. After several years in that position, and with encouragement from coworkers and the physicians she worked for, she returned to school at Skagit Valley College in Mt. Vernon, Washington for an Associate’s Degree in Nursing. She then worked a few more years in family medicine before moving to a plastic and hand surgery clinic in Bellingham where she has worked for the past nine years. While working in family medicine Jennifer very much enjoyed getting to know her patients personally and helping them with their medical needs. She especially enjoyed having children come in as babies and then watching them grow into young adults.

To be a school nurse has long been a goal of Jennifer’s. When her daughter was born in 2010, after a few years of being a stay-at-home mom, she began efforts to meet that goal. A common requirement in school nursing job descriptions is to have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, so she returned to school at the University of Washington- Bothell to obtain a BSN. She graduated in 2014 and is looking forward to building relationships with the students of St. Paul’s Academy.

When not at work she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, enjoying all that Whatcom County has to offer. Her hobbies include running, soccer, fishing and camping.
