English - Upper School

Education: M.A. English with Specialization in Rhetoric (currently pursuing; taking a brief hiatus in order to establish myself in my new teaching position) National University; National Board Certified Teacher; M.A. Science, Education with Specialization in Literacy and Learning in English Content, Walden University; Teacher Training and Certification, (Woodring) Western Washington University; B.A. English, Seattle University.

I am a native Washingtonian. I grew up in the Yakima Valley, and moved west of the mountains shortly after graduating from high school. I worked in the music industry in Seattle, doing sales and promotion for several years before deciding to teach. Music is still a big part of my life. Upon graduation from Seattle University I moved to Bellingham with my husband to attend Woodring College of Education. I worked as a substitute teacher in various school districts while obtaining my masters, then took a full time teaching position in the Snoqualmie Valley, where I remained for nine years before returning to Bellingham this past year with my husband and some Smooth Fox Terriers. We are settled in, and plan to stay in beautiful Whatcom County.
