Education: Western Washington University (WWU), B.A. in English; Woodring College of Education K-8 Teaching Certificate, Endorsement in Elementary Education, Reading Endorsement

Amanda Holden began teaching at St. Paul’s Academy in 4th grade during Fall 2012 and has grown to love this community.  “The three best things about St. Paul’s are the wonderful students, my dedicated, professional, and collaborative colleagues, and oh did I already say the kids?”    Miss Holden is in constant conversation with Mrs. Evans, her teaching partner next door.  “Madison is amazing!  She’s always willing to listen, work together, and make revisions to create a better learning experience that fits our current group of students.”

Amanda’s roots are both local and international. Her grandmother was a Bellingham elementary school teacher but, “I was born and raised in the Philippines where my parents were missionaries,” she comments. “I have the fortune of growing up in a bilingual, multicultural Christian home.”

Through her undergraduate program at Western WA University, Amanda gained experience in local school districts.  Her work culminated with a yearlong internship in 3rd grade at Northern Heights Elementary School. Miss Holden graduated Winter 2012 with a K-8 Elementary Education Certificate and an additional endorsement as a K-12 Reading Specialist.
